InphoniteVoice: Using Custom Fields

InphoniteVoice Feature of the Week

Filtering Contacts by Custom Fields is useful, for example, when notifying customers with appointments at a certain location that the office will be closed, or for notifying patients that their doctor will not be able to keep any appointments scheduled for that afternoon.

InphoniteVoice provides 10 custom fields for your use, five for Contact data and five for Appointment data. The data stored in these fields may be used in Messages, Data Mappings, and Outbound Rules. Information that usually remains static for a given customer should be stored as a Contact Custom Field. Information that often changes from appointment to appointment should be stored as an Appointment Custom Field. When a Custom Filter (e.g., Location = Lakeside Office) is added to an Outbound Rule, only those contacts who meet the search criteria will receive the desired message.

Values can be entered manually, but usually custom fields are populated automatically during the data import process.

InphoniteVoice also allows you to customize the Custom Field Labels ("Physician" instead of "Custom field 1", etc.). More on this next week!
