Ten Years of Inphonite
It’s hard to believe it’s been over ten years. We bought Inphonite, then called JulySoft, in the Summer of 2007. Signing on the dotted line was scary. Did we want to spend our savings? Could we do it? Would we succeed? Ten years later and our employees, customers and partners are part of our large and extended family. I can hardly remember a time before being a business owner; and at the same time, I still sometimes wake up and think, “Oh my! I’m a business owner!!”
When we bought the company, it was located in a house. I remember it well. It felt like a maze of rooms, with cluttered cubicles and narrow hallways. Embarrassed, I regularly turned the wrong way to get to someone’s desk and would purposely stop to visit other folks along the way to hide the fact that I wasn’t going the right direction. I didn’t want my employees to know their new boss was lost! Reading this now, I’m sure those same employees are laughing because they probably knew all along that I didn’t know where I was. The hub of the house was the old dining room. This served as our conference room where we all sat around an octagonal glass-top table with gold chrome edging. The scratchy, 80’s pastel-patterned chairs had matching gold armrests and caster wheels. Ah…the good ole days.
After less than a year, we had moved out of that house and were hard at work with a product rewrite. Healthcare was in flux. Small practices were joining large groups and EHRs were popping up like gophers on a golf course. What an opportunity for growth. We have met and connected with so many people. It’s our goal to make sure that our lifelong customers know how important they are to us and that each new customer feels instantly like our lifelong customers already do.
Staying relevant, we continue to innovate and recreate our products while maintaining our valued partnerships and core values. Ten years later, I can honestly say no matter how big we get, we’ve made infinite connections and will continue to do so. I look back at the decision to sign on that dotted line and am proud of the growth of our products, our company and team, and all that we’ve learned along the way. Just as we celebrated with our Inphonite team this past year, I want to share our joy with you. Here’s to another 10 years--I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us next!
